Stafford Heights Kindergarten is expanding and is looking for dynamic educators to join our teaching team!
This is an exciting opportunity to join an exceeding teaching team with a variety of new roles available to the right candidate.

• Educator (Thursday and Friday 7.30 am – 5.00 pm) • Educator (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 8.00 am – 2.00 pm)

• Co-ordinator of Outside Hours Care (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm)

 

All positions begin as twelve-month contracts with the view to permanent part-time. The opportunity for flexible working arrangements exists for the right candidate should they prefer to apply for two positions jointly (i.e., Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
8.00 am – 6.00pm).

About Stafford Heights Kindergarten

Stafford Heights Kindergarten is a not-for-profit community kindergarten, affiliated with The Gowrie (Qld), which has been providing a play-based early childhood program for over 50 years. Operated by a parent committee, Stafford Heights Kindergarten (SHK) has a non-contact director/teacher and dedicated team of professionals who work together to provide the Exceeding service provision that highlights the uniqueness of Stafford Heights Kindergarten. Situated behind Stafford Heights State School and next to the Stafford Heights Early Childhood Development Unit, SHK is part of a strong and dedicated educational community. SHK operates as a single unit service, catering for kindergarten children from 3 years to school entry.

Stafford Heights Kindergarten offers two kindergarten programs, a 3 day per week (8 – 2 pm) and a 2 day per week (8 – 4.00 pm). In 2020 SHK trialled a pilot Outside Hours Care pilot program which extends operation until 6 pm. This has become a much-loved program of our community and remains a permeant fixture.
We are looking for Educators who have previous early childhood experience and a passion for working with children in the early years. The right candidates would have a strong belief in the value of play and be able to demonstrate their strength in interpersonal and communicative skills.

Candidates must hold:

All positions require a Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care and experience in early childhood settings. In addition to this, the following certificates and training would be viewed favourably:
• Current Senior First Aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training • Current Blue Card (Paid Employee) – or willingness to obtain one • Current child protection training would be advantageous
