Camp Hill Kindy (a C &K affiliate centre), has been a well-respected community
kindy for 80 years and prides itself on its strong reputation and dedicated teaching
staff. Camp Hill kindy is a not-for-profit organisation, operated by a Management
Committee that is elected annually from the parent body.
The double unit centre runs a three-year-old program, as well as a kindergarten
program, which is play-based and child-led.

About the Role

Along with having the appropriate qualifications, you will also have a solid
understanding of the National Quality Framework and Standards (NQF and NQS)
along with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The ideal applicant will be
flexible and available for work at short notice, with varied shifts including:
 Long day session- 7:00am-4:00pm
 Short day session- 8:00am-3:00pm

Applicants must have
 Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA
as an early childhood teaching qualification)
 Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
 Strong knowledge of NQF, NQS and EYLF
 Current paid or Exemption Blue Card
 Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training

About the role:
Springwood Community Kindergarten now has a position for an experienced Clerical/Administration Officer to join the Kindergarten on a Casual basis, commencing on Monday, 18th January, 2022.

This Clerical/Administration position is required for three days a week to support the Kindergarten and Nominated Supervisor – Mondays 9:00am – 1:00pm and Wednesdays & Thursdays 9:00am – 12:00pm.

This position:
The Clerical/Administration Officer is responsible for assisting the Kindergarten with matters of an administrative and financial nature such as creating and maintaining child enrolment records and waitlist information, collecting data for QLD Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS) validation and QKFSPlus subsidies, setting up fees and invoicing/ receipting, payroll, grant applications,assist with budget preparation, retaining accurate attendance records for children and generate child data reports, file maintenance and archiving as well as other administrative duties as needed.

Ideally you will have strong organisational and time management skills, be flexible and willing to support the Kindergarten with open day events, community events and other administrative duties for the educators and Kindergarten when required.

Ideal applicants will have:

• Qualification in business administration or a related course is preferred but not essential
• Hold Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care or currently enrolled, desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in a similar role as a clerical/ administration within the education and care sector (e.g.C&K, Gowrie, long day care or school setting) highly advantageous
• Proven well developed written, verbal, interpersonal communication and presentation skills coupled with a strong customer service focus
• Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain a very high level of confidentiality and integrity
• Be welcoming, friendly and approachable when engaging with families, children and staff
• Have demonstrated knowledge of Xero accounting package and Google Suite programs
• Child Protection and First Aide qualifications (or willing to obtain these) is desirable
• Current Blue Card (essential)

To be responsible for the promotion of the Kindergarten in the Community, for upholding a friendly and professional point of contact for members of the Kindergarten Community (primarily parents) and to generally assist with marketing, enrolment and general administration duties as may be assigned by the Director and Committee.

2. Essential Qualifications/Selection Criteria:

• A high level of interpersonal skills.
• Welcoming, friendly and well‐informed.
• Quick and enthusiastic learner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
• Possess an understanding of Social Media and how our target market would be most likely to engage with our content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Previous experience with Kid soft and (to a lesser extent) Xero would be beneficial.

Previous experience in working in an environment catering to young children is not essential, however a broad understanding of community kindergartens will be viewed as favourable. Qualifications such as First Aid may be of benefit in this role.

3. About Wavell Heights Kindergarten:

Wavell Heights Kindergarten has been in operation since 1960. We are a non‐profit organisation, owned and operated by the Wavell Heights Kindergarten Association Incorporated, whose members are parents of enrolled children.

The Centre operates as a double unit, catering for four classes of 22 Pre‐Prep children aged 3 ½‐ 4 ½ years. Our service currently offers parents the flexibility of a ‘three day’ week, ‘five day’ fortnight program or a two‐longer day program. Wavell Heights Kindergarten provides play based developmental and educational programs for children in a bright, cheerful and safe environment. It is proud to offer services, facilities and programs and rated as EXCEEDING the National Quality Framework.

4. Hours:

This role is to be a casual, part‐time position. It is anticipated that the hours would be 7‐10 hrs per week, across 2‐3 days. This is flexible and final hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

5. Remuneration:

This role is to be paid under the ‘Clerks Private Sector’ award. Level 3, Casual rate.

The Gap State High School is situated in the leafy Brisbane suburb of The Gap.   This year 2020, the school has an enrolment of 1700 students with vision for 2000 students in 2022.

The Uniform Shop is a business unit of the P&C Association of The Gap State High School, and we are seeking an experienced Retail Manager.   This crucial position provides excellent customer service to ensure happy customers, and yet maintaining the professional business presence.

The casual position is up to 20 hours per week – the shop will be open every school weekday from 7am to 10am.  Your skills in managing the day to day operations of the shop will include inventory management, managing your volunteers, liaising with school staff, working alongside the P&C Executive, and liaising with suppliers.  Your previous buyer experience is essential together with your skills for electronic POS will ensure this business unit will increase sales in the uniform shop.  Your demonstrated skills in time management will assist in fulfilling the online orders ready for student/parent collection or ready for the delivery pickup.

The needs of the school community require the Uniform Shop to be open 2 weeks prior to the start of the school year to ensure students are clothed according to the Uniform Policy.  You will become familiar with the Uniform Policy to ensure parents and students are aware of the School’s requirements.  You will need to hold or be able to obtain a current relevant BlueCard for this position which will be within the School environment.

Your Retail Manager expertise you bring to this position will ensure The Gap State High School Uniform Shop customers leave with a positive retail experience.
