About the role

The position is responsible for leading the overall strategic, financial and operational management of very large (250 children) high-quality school age the Outside School Hours Care Service placed under her/his control in accordance with the policies and directions of the Committee of the P&C Association.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the service’s growth of quality, sustainability and service delivery to a high standard while ensuring that all financial records for service are up to date and are available to be reported to the Treasurer of the Committee of the P&C Association as required.

There will be around 6 positions reporting to this role, and the successful candidate will be expected to lead the employees (and volunteers) in a culture that is dedicated to meaningful learning and teaching in accordance with the National Quality Framework and also celebrates success through a growth mindset

The Successful Candidate:

Will hold a current Diploma of Children’s Services or Equivalent, plus evidence of additional relevant training and learning, and meet the essential criteria’s below.

Knowledge

Sound understanding of an OSHC operational requirements, including demonstration of applied knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
Sound understanding of contemporary business, human resources and quality improvement practices.
Financial literacy, including budgeting and financial reporting.
Comprehensive knowledge of child development and quality care practices.
Comprehensive knowledge of My Time, Our Place that is reflected and articulated in programming and reflection on outcomes.
Practice, Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience in developing quality within a service and shape the overall performance, including high quality learning and leisure experiences for children.
Demonstrated experience in shaping a service delivery and practices to promote growth.
in quality care, safety, wellbeing and support of children and families accessing a service.
Demonstrated high-level ability to draw upon relevant theories, research and approved learning frameworks when critically evaluating the learning experiences of children, which identifies plans for extending and maximising children’s learning, understand equity and social justice implications.
Experience in facilitating employee learning to develop knowledge and skills.
Experience in adhering to legislative frameworks and organisational requirements.
Experience in supervising and managing employees, including rostering and undertaking recruitment and selection activities.
Demonstrated experience in contributing to the strategic direction of a service’s operations.
