Belmont State School P&C Association seeks a dynamic, open-minded, curious and enthusiastic Coordinator to support and uplift our service to achieve excellence.

Our OSHC team is dedicated to creating a nurturing second home for all Belmont State School children, providing the best opportunities for them to play and be active citizens within our community.

We embody and use Playwork in our day-to-day practice, with Playwork Theory informing our creation of space and interactions with children. As Playwork does, we also value our connection to community and hope to build strong connections in the coming years. Currently, we are operating at full capacity with 180 students.

As Coordinator, you will join a strong leadership team that includes an Operations Manager, two Assistant Coordinators, an Educational Leader and an Administrative Officer. We are looking for a leader with an open-mind, a curiosity and willingness to learn, excellent initiative, and an ability to follow through ideas to completion. Your supportive leadership and passion for uplifting and upskilling the team will lead us to an exceeding service.

As Coordinator, you will oversee all aspects of the service, including:

  • Providing guidance, support, and leadership to the team of Educators to ensure smooth and effective operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including the National Quality Framework (NQF) and other local regulations.
  • Overseeing the implementation and regular review of health and safety policies, including regular risk-benefit assessments.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of attendance, incidents, accidents, and any other relevant records.
  • Creating and managing staff rosters, maintenance of hours in relation to budgets, and timesheet management.
  • Facilitating regular team meetings to discuss program updates, staff concerns, and ideas for improvement.
  • Support the educational leader in evaluating activities and programs and assisting with any required adjustments.
  • Identifying training needs, facilitating professional development opportunities, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with parents and guardians, serving as their primary point of contact and key representative upholding the service.
  • Engendering a positive and supportive workplace culture among team members.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with the school and local community.
  • Assisting in budget management, including tracking expenses and purchasing supplies.
  • Implementing strategies for continuous improvement in the program.
  • Maintaining the Strategic Inclusion Plan and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Leading the team to deliver a service that is exceeding in all 7 Quality Improvement Areas.

Your qualifications and required skills:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, Bachelor of Education, or relevant equivalent
  • Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting and CPR
  • Child Protection Training
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
