POSITION VACANT – OSHC Director

An exciting opportunity has become available to lead the team at Ferny Hills State School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)

Ferny Hills State School (FHSS) Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) are seeking an experienced Educator to fulfil the position of OSHC Director.  FHSS OSHC is licensed for 130 children and provides before school care, after school care, vacation care and care on pupil free days.  The FHSS P&C is a dynamic and community minded group of volunteers who are dedicated to the delivery of high quality and family friendly services to the FHSS community.

Employment Status: Permanent

Commencement: Negotiable with the successful applicant

Hours: 38 hrs/week (includes split shifts and non-contact hours)

Remuneration: As per the Parents and Citizens Association Award – State 2016

Requirements

 

  • A relevant Degree or Diploma in Children’s Services or similar
  • Experience in the management and administration of a child care service
  • Experience as a Nominated Supervisor
  • Experience using Qikkids is desirable
  • Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain prior to appointment
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificate or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for children, staff, parents/caregivers and school community members
  • Provide overall management of the FHSS OSHC program including all administrative matters
  • Supervise the implementation of developmentally appropriate programs for children
  • Oversee program planning, delivery and documentation
  • Recruit staff in accordance with relevant regulations and in collaboration with the FHSS P&C Executive Committee
  • Formulate and evaluate annual budgets and maintain day to day accounts
  • Monitor the OSHC’s compliance with relevant regulations and statutory and quality assurance requirements
  • Provide professional leadership to support and develop the team of educators
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures
  • Engage in self-reflection, self-assessment and quality improvement planning processes

Key Selection Criteria

 

  • Experience in the management and administration of an OSHC or similar
  • Experience in program planning and documentation
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and National Quality Framework
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
