About Us
Burketown Childcare is a Not-for-Profit community run Centre that nurtures & supports our children & families. The Centre runs as a Family Hub with playgroup from 8.30am to 11.30am then continues as a Childcare from 11.30am to 2.30pm. On one or two days a week the family hub also offers after school activities for kids up to grade 6 inclusive.
About You
We are looking for someone who has prior experience in this sector and is looking to take their career to the next level. You must have a heart for providing exceptional service to the children in your care, as well as provide leadership to your team.

About the role
The position is responsible for taking a leadership role in the development and implementation of a quality care and education program for young children and must have a high level of written & oral communications skills. The Service Director is to ensure the practices established by the service facilitate a program consistent with the National Quality Standards and reflects the National Quality Framework. The Service Director is to supervise and guide the service’s employees and volunteers and will be responsible for running the Family Hub with playgroups, the childcare and after school activities for children aged 3 up to grade 6 inclusive.

Essential Criteria:
Hold a Diploma as per Children Services Award
Hold (or be able to obtain) a current Suitability card and/or Exemption Card
Hold (or be able to obtain) a Senior First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation Certificate.
Minimum 3 or 4 year qualification in Early Childhood Education
Hold an Open ‘C’ class Drivers License.
Sound understanding of a Child Care operational requirements, including demonstration of applied knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
Financial literacy, including budgeting and financial reporting
Comprehensive knowledge of child development and quality care practices.
Experience in facilitating employee learning to develop knowledge and skills.
Experience in adhering to legislative frameworks and organisational requirements.
Experience in supervising and managing employees, including rostering and undertaking recruitment with the help of the committee and selection activities.
Demonstrated experience in contributing to the strategic direction of a service’s operations.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote relationship building, respectful interactions, and professional boundaries.
